City of Alexandria to Host Second Flood Resilience Plan (FRP) Community Meeting – April 16

Please join the City of Alexandria for a second Flood Resilience Plan community meeting on Thursday, April 16 from 7 - 8:15 p.m. Building on the first community meeting held in November 2025, City representatives will provide an overview of the Flood Resilience Plan (FRP) and share updates on the plan’s progress.

Through a public survey, discussions with community partners, and flood modeling, the City has identified areas prone to flooding and is exploring potential mitigation strategies to incorporate into the FRP. The City is currently developing the FRP, which will include policy and programmatic recommendations to guide the community toward a more resilient future.

Meet us at the Charles Houston Recreation Center, located at 901 Wythe Street, or join us online through Zoom. There are several bus stops nearby including the Old Town Circulator. Other bus routes can be found in the DASH System Map.

After the meeting, a recording will be posted on the Flood Resilience Plan webpage. Please register in advance using the following link. You will receive a meeting link and dial-in information.
