Duke Street Land Use Plan Business Passport Program

For immediate release: May 22, 2026

We are thrilled to officially launch of the Duke Street Land Use Plan Business Passport Program! The Passport Program offers community members the opportunity to visit and celebrate the businesses that make Duke Street great and win prizes while doing so.

Here’s how it works: when you visit a participating business, find the circular window decal or the rectangular countertop decal and scan the QR code to check in. The community member who visits the most unique businesses will be eligible for a $100 gift certificate to a participating business of their choice. Second place will be eligible for $50 and third through tenth for $25.  The Passport Program will run until the end of September 2026, so get out there and show your love to Duke Street’s businesses!

A full list of businesses can be found on our webpage at alexandriava.gov/DukeStreetPlan and on the Engagement Hub at alexandriava.mysocialpinpoint.com/passport-program. We’re adding businesses every day, so check back regularly to see who’s participating and keep your eyes peeled for Duke Street Land Use Plan decals in the wild.

For questions, or if you are a business owner within a 1/2 mile of Duke Street who would like to participate, please contact Christian Brandt, Urban Planner at Christian.brandt@alexandriava.gov or 703.746.3859.

For reasonable disability accommodation, contact Lisa Chase, 703.746.3831, Virginia Relay 711.
