For Immediate Release: January 24, 2022

(*Update: 1/24/2023*) -- On January 20, 2023, the Alexandria Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit with the help of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task force took Brian Wordell Morris Jr., 27, a City of Alexandria Resident, into custody in connection with this incident.

Later the same day, Mr. Morris was mistakenly released from a Prince George's County Jail; his current whereabouts are unknown. Mr. Morris is currently wanted by this jurisdiction and if anyone has any information leading to his whereabouts they are asked to contact Detective John Bratelli via phone at 703.746.6699, email at John.Brattelli@Alexandriava.gov, call our non-emergency line at 703.746.4444 or contact your nearest police department. The Alexandria Police Department Investigates Shooting Incident

For Immediate Release: January 18, 2023

ALEXANDRIA, VA. – The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred on the evening of January 15, 2023, in the 4600 block of Duke street.

During this incident, one person was shot. The victim a 22-year-old male, was transported to the hospital with multiple injuries and is expected to recover.

APD is currently investigating a person(s) of interest in relation to this incident.

The incident is still under investigation and APD is asking anyone who may have information related to this case to contact Detective John Bratelli via phone at 703.746.6699, email at John.Brattelli@Alexandriava.gov, or call our non-emergency line at 703.746.4444.  Tips can be anonymous.
