This morning at approximately 7:32 a.m. the Alexandria Police Department responded to a construction site in the 5700 block of Duke Street for the report of a person with injury. Inside the enclosed construction site, an adult male worker was fatally struck by a vehicle. The APD Crash Reconstruction Team responded and is investigating the incident. Other City of Alexandria agencies collaborating with the investigation include the Alexandria Department of Code Administration, Department of Transportation and Environmental Services, and Department of Project Implementation in coordination with the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry. This is an active investigation.
