Alexandria, VA – Yesterday at approximately 5:55 p.m., Alexandria Police responded to the 6000 block of Edsall Road following a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from lacerations; he was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

A second individual, initially believed to have been stabbed, was found deceased inside the building. He has been identified as Daniel Foster, 42, of Alexandria. Further examination revealed Foster had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.

The Office of the Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.

At this time, all involved parties have been identified and accounted for. The investigation remains active.
