Alexandria Police Seek Public’s Help in Indecent Exposure Investigation

The Alexandria Police Department is actively investigating a series of indecent exposure incidents that have occurred in the early morning hours in the Del Ray, Rosemont, and North Ridge neighborhoods. In each incident, a man has exposed himself in public. At this time, there have been no   reports of physical contact or attempted assault.  Detectives believe the same suspect is connected to all reported incidents.

The suspect is described as a Black male, 5’08-6’01 with a muscular or heavy build. While the description is limited, we are asking for the public’s help in reviewing video footage, remaining alert, and reporting any information that could assist in identifying the individual. Community members are encouraged to check personal and business surveillance footage and report anything.

Detectives continue to conduct thorough witness interviews and continue to search for relevant surveillance footage from nearby buildings and public transit systems. Marked patrols have been increased in affected neighborhoods, and officers are engaging with local residents and businesses to raise awareness and encourage information sharing.

If you see someone acting suspiciously or have relevant footage, please report it by calling 911 immediately. Specific details that could help identify the suspect include; clothing description, height, build, hairstyle, facial hair, or other distinguishing features, items carried, and direction of travel.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Detectives are following all available leads.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Alexandria Police Department Detective Vanderah at 703-746-6678. Please stay alert, check your surroundings, and help us keep our community safe.
