Attempted Bank Robbery Suspect Identified and Charged
Alexandria, VA – On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at approximately 9:25 a.m., officers from the Alexandria Police Department responded to a report of a bank robbery in progress at the M&T Bank located at 833 S. Washington Street.
The suspect entered the bank, passed a note demanding money, and then fled the scene without obtaining any cash.
Later that same day, Jonathan Levar Robinson, 35, was arrested in Prince George’s County, Maryland, in connection with a bank robbery in that jurisdiction. Robinson, who has no fixed address, is currently in custody in Prince George’s County.
Following an investigation by the Alexandria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, Robinson has been charged in connection with the Alexandria incident with the following offenses:
- Attempted Robbery by Threat
- Wearing of Masks or Hoods to Conceal Identity
He remains in custody in Prince George’s County awaiting extradition to Alexandria to face these charges.
