New for 2026 — Non-profit organizations and places of worship are now eligible to apply!
The City of Alexandria's Office of Climate Action announces the second round of Plug In Alexandria, a program that makes it easier and more affordable for multi-unit residential communities, non-profit organizations, and places of worship to install electric vehicle (EV) chargers.
Participating organizations are eligible for:
- Expert Technical Support – Receive a site visit and custom technical assessment from industry experts outlining the requirements, feasibility, and estimated costs to install EV chargers at your property.
- Financial Assistance – Get reimbursed for eligible EV charger installation costs, up to $10,000 — or up to $15,000 if your organization is located in a low-income community census tract.
Applications are currently open for the Plug In Alexandria program, so apply today! Multi-unit residential communities, non-profit organizations, and places of worship are all eligible to apply.
The City will evaluate applications on a rolling basis, as funding allows. Submit your application by September 21, 2026 to be considered in the next evaluation.
