Housing 2040 to Discuss Tenant Protections, Financial Tools for Affordable Housing and Homeowner Programs and Resources on June 5
Members of the community are invited to join the Alexandria Housing Affordability Advisory Committee (AHAAC) and Landlord Tenant Relations Board for updates and discussion on three Housing 2040 projects on Thursday, June 5 starting at 7 p.m. Members of the public have a hybrid option to attend online via Zoom or in-person in Room 1900, City Hall, 301 King Street, Alexandria, VA.

This is the sixth in a series of topical Housing 2040 meetings.
- Tenant Protections – this discussion will start at 7 p.m. as part of a joint meeting of AHAAC and LTRB
- Homeowner programs and resources: this discussion is anticipated to start at approximately 7:45 p.m. A presentation was provided at the May 15 AHAAC meeting. The public and AHAAC members will have an opportunity to discuss any follow up questions or ideas regarding this topic at the June 5 meeting. - Financial tools and sources for affordable housing: this discussion is anticipated to start at approximately 8:00/8:15 pm. A presentation was provided at the May 15 AHAAC meeting. The public and AHAAC members will have an opportunity to discuss any follow up questions or ideas regarding this topic at the June 5 meeting. Background: The 2013 Housing Master Plan (HMP) established principles, goals, and strategies to address Alexandria's housing needs through 2025. In collaboration with the community and local partners, the City is undertaking an update to the HMP through 2040. Presentations and recordings of the Housing 2040 meetings, including the March Principles and Goals Community Meeting and April Preservation Panel Discussion, are available at alexandriava.gov/HousingPlan. Starting with the Housing Needs Assessment, the Housing 2040 process will establish new housing affordability goals and examine housing policies, programs, and tools to support all Alexandria residents and workers.
