Housing 2040 Draft Recommendations Released for Landlord Tenants Rights and Resources and Homeowner Programs and Resources Projects, and Revised Draft Principles and Goals
At its September 8 Community Meeting, the Office of Housing released draft recommendations for two Housing 2040 projects: Landlord Tenant Rights and Resources and Homeowner Programs and Resources. Revised draft Housing 2040 Principles and Goals, which will guide the Housing 2040 Master Plan, were also released for community feedback. Materials from the September 8 meeting are now available on the Housing 2040 website, including the meeting presentation.

Revised Housing 2040 Principles and Goals

Background: The 2013 Housing Master Plan (HMP) established principles, goals, and strategies to address Alexandria's housing needs through 2025. In collaboration with the community and local partners, the City is undertaking an update to the HMP through 2040. Presentations and recordings of the Housing 2040 meetings, including the March Principles and Goals Community Meeting, April Preservation Panel Discussion, and Housing 2040 Topics, are available at alexandriava.gov/HousingPlan. Starting with the Housing Needs Assessment, the Housing 2040 process will establish new housing affordability goals and examine housing policies, programs, and tools to support all Alexandria residents and workers. The current Housing Master Plan ends in 2025.
