Duke Street Land Use Plan Community Poll Reminder

On June 9, the City launched an 18-month planning process for the Duke Street Corridor from Alexandria Union Station to Van Dorn Street at the future Landmark/West End development. The planning process will engage the community to update the comprehensive land use plan for the area’s long-term future and explore topics such as housing affordability, land use, mobility, pedestrian and cyclist safety and accessibility, and connecting existing and future open spaces, among others.

Community Poll

We want to hear from you! Share your thoughts and ideas in our community poll by Thursday July 31 on what you think could make your community better. You can access the poll below:

  • English
  • Amharic
  • Spanish

Pop-ups

We are actively scheduling pop-ups along the corridor to engage with community members and collect additional feedback. Anyone who wishes to share input is encouraged to attend a pop-up. More information regarding future pop-ups and other engagement opportunities will be posted on the project website, communicated through eNews and WhatsApp, and shared with community groups.

For more information, please contact Christian Brandt, Urban Planner, Department of Planning and Zoning, 703.746.3859, visit the project website, or connect through WhatsApp text messenger here or via 703.201.3000.

For reasonable disability accommodation, contact Lisa Chase, alicia.chase@alexandriava.gov, 703.746.3831, Virginia Relay 711.
