In an effort to continue to keep the community safe, the Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities (RPCA) is postponing the opening of Old Town Pool tomorrow. We’re still hard at work making the necessary repairs to stabilize operations for the season. During Tuesday morning’s inspection, we discovered additional issues inside the filtration tank, which were addressed and repaired the same day. On Wednesday, new filter media was installed, and the system was reassembled. Filtration resumed today, and we are continuing to fine-tune the system to ensure it meets all health code requirements prior to reopening. We’ll be securing 100 additional Great Waves passes, though these will still be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Additionally, we will extend Chinquapin Aquatics Facility hours, remaining open until 7:45 p.m. Thank you for your continued patience as we work to get everything back up and running safely.

Please visit alexandriava.gov/Aquatics for the latest updates, schedules, and facility information.
