Adopt a Park Season Kickoff Celebration
We’re excited to kick off another season of the City of Alexandria Department of Recreation, Park & Cultural Activities (RPCA) Adopt-a-Park Program, and we would love to see you there Wednesday, March 18 from 6–7:30 p.m. at 2900 A Business Center Drive!
At least one representative from each participating group is expected to attend. This gathering is a wonderful opportunity to:
- Connect with fellow volunteers
- Meet RPCA park maintenance and natural resource staff
- Review updated procedures and agreements
- Ask questions, receive supplies, and provide feedback
- Learn how we work together to keep our parks and green spaces thriving
Whether you are a returning group or new to the program, this is your chance to start the season informed, connected, and inspired. Light refreshments will be provided. We look forward to celebrating the start of a new season with you!
Parking is available in the lot between the 2900 building and Witter Field. After entering through the pedestrian gate, follow the posted signs to the meeting location.
Interested in adopting a park this season? Parks are available on a first-come, first-served basis and may only be adopted by one group at a time. We encourage you to reapply soon to secure your preferred location. The application is available on the City’s Adopt a Garden or Park webpage.
Looking to take on more space? Browse the full list of parks across the City and explore new opportunities to serve. Please note that only parks managed by the City of Alexandria’s Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities qualify. Parks or green spaces scheduled for maintenance or reconstruction between April 1-November 30 will not be available for adoption.
We are grateful for your dedication and cannot wait to kick off a new season of stewardship together.
