The City will host a community meeting to discuss and receive public feedback on youth sports and access to athletic facilities through the Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities (RPCA) on Monday, April 13 at 7 p.m.

At this meeting, staff will share information on current athletic facility use/allocation, review the existing Sports Affiliate and Community Athletic Facility Use Policies, and hear about related ideas for improvement and/or concerns from the community and the Youth Sports Advisory Board stakeholders.

The community discussion will inform future updates to the Sports Affiliate Policy and Community Athletic Facility Use Policy. Community members are encouraged to attend to learn more about youth sports and athletic facility use in Alexandria and provide feedback that will help RPCA create meaningful opportunities and access to youth sports. Public feedback will be documented during the meeting and can also be sent via email to laura.durham@alexandriava.gov through Thursday, April 30.
