The return of cooler mornings, changing leaves, and new routines also means a new season of recreation with the Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities. Whether you're looking to stay active, learn something new, spend time outdoors, or connect with your community, you'll find plenty of opportunities in our fall lineup.

Be sure to check out this issue's feature on the new Four Mile Run Kayak Launch, a project that is already giving more people the opportunity to experience Alexandria's waterfront from a new perspective.

Fall Registration Opens Soon

Registration for fall classes and programs, running from September through mid-November, opens:

  • Wednesday, August 5, at 9 a.m. for City residents
  • Friday, August 7, at 9 a.m. for non-residents

Register online, visit the Lee Center Registration & Reservation Office (1108 Jefferson St.), or stop by your neighborhood recreation center to sign up.
