City of Alexandria Seeks Community Input on Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvements Along S Van Dorn Street
The City of Alexandria seeks community input on design concepts for bicycle and pedestrian improvements along S Van Dorn Street between Eisenhower Avenue and McConnell Avenue. The core purpose of the project is to better accommodate people walking and biking along the corridor and improve safety, comfort, and connectivity for bicyclists and pedestrians.
Potential corridor and intersection improvements include:
- Separated bicycle and pedestrian pathways
- Increased separation of these facilities from the roadside
- Improved markings at intersections
- Landscaping
To participate, provide feedback via the online feedback form by April 15th.
The City will use this feedback to inform a preferred alternative. The project supports recommendations from the Alexandria Mobility Plan to provide an enhanced bicycle facility along S Van Dorn Street.
