The City earned the Silver What Works Cities Certification in recognition of its excellence using data and evidence to improve outcomes for residents.

The City of Alexandria received the 2023 Organizational Leadership Award from the American Society of Public Administration (ASPA) Center for Accountability and Performance.

The City has achieved a Top-10 status in the Center for Digital Government's 2023 Digital Cities Survey Award.  

The City earned the ICMA Certificate of Excellence in performance management, the highest award available.  The City has previously earned an ICMA award in 2019 and 2020.

Alexandria was named an innovative City by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

The City co-leads the regional government consortium, Mid-Atlantic StatNet, that facilitates and furthers analytics in local government.

The Biocomplexity Institute and the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth, along with the UVA Equity Center and Collaboratory for Applied Data Science in Business, have partnered to create a Social Impact Data Commons to inform equitable local and regional growth in the DC area.
