Public Service Recognition Week

Since 1985, the first full week of May has been set aside as Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW) to honor those who serve our nation as federal, state, county, and local government employees. The City of Alexandria is honoring our employees’ dedication to public service during PSRW from May 4 – 10 by sharing stories, highlighting resources for federal workers, and inviting the public to celebrate a public servant who has made a difference in their life.

Submit Your Videos for City Employees!

Do you have a public service employee that works for the City that you'd like to recognize? Or a great story about the impact they've had on your life? If so, we're inviting you to contribute a short message to show your appreciation! Public Service Recognition Week is the perfect time to show appreciation for the public servants who make a difference in our community. We’re inviting both employees and community members to submit a short video expressing thanks or giving a shoutout to the public servants who work hard every day for us. Let’s come together to honor their contributions—submit your video today!

Please submit your 10-15 second video clips by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, May 9 by dropping your video into our submission webpage.
