The Step2Savings Energy Challenge is a FREE program designed to help multi-family buildings and places of worship reduce energy use, strengthen their bottom line, and increase marketability. Improving your building’s energy and water efficiency is one of the most effective ways to lower and control costs, while also enhancing the comfort of residents, improving indoor air quality, and extending the useful life of building systems.
Through the Step2Savings Energy Challenge, the City provides FREE technical assistance to help you:
- Set and achieve impactful energy reduction targets,
- Develop a customized action plan to achieve that target, and
- Track performance and document your energy savings.
Participants also receive:
- Public recognition for your leadership and successful actions,
- Technical support for ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager data collection and entry,
- Connections to industry experts, best practices, and funding opportunities,
- Educational resources, including articles and case studies,
- Access to software tools to evaluate capital planning investments, and
- Potential joint procurement opportunities to simplify the purchase of equipment like solar panels, heat pumps, and smart thermostats.
