DCHS Moving to New Location in 2023
A DCHS CONNECT NEWS HIGHLIGHT
January 13, 2022--Alexandria’s Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) will move to a new location in 2023 and is hosting two events during the month of January to gather community input on ways to make the place comfortable and welcoming for all.
Two virtual discussions are being hosted this month to give clients and community partners the opportunity to learn about the new location’s color palettes, materials for seating, flooring, layout, signage and lighting, and accordingly provide feedback and express their preferences regarding the internal architectural features and decorative specifications.
The upcoming virtual discussion is on January 13, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. A previous session was held on January 11.
Advance registration is required and once completed a confirmation email, with details about the meeting and ways to join, will be sent. For more information, visit alexandriava.gov/125531.
The new location of DCHS, as well as the Alexandria Health Department (AHD) and Neighborhood Health will be at 4850 Mark Center Place.
The DCHS’s relocation plan supports and aligns with the Department’s values, mission and vision of a community in which residents enjoy a sense of well-being, safety and self-sufficiency. The Department’s employees strive to provide effective and essential services that measurably improve and maintain the quality of life for Alexandrians.
