Picnic Reservation Start Date Changing from Friday, March 1 to Monday, March 4 For the 2024 Season

The City of Alexandria's Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities (RPCA) is excited to welcome a new year of picnic reservations for all of your celebrations and events! This year, our reservations will open on Monday, March 4 instead of its normal start of March 1. This change is to ensure that our team can better assist patrons who want to register for their preferred date and time, which is required to be done in person at the Lee Center (1108 Jefferson St) and to answer questions that may arise.

As a reminder, RPCA's picnic season runs from April-October every year with reservations beginning in March. Parks available for picnic rentals are:

  • Armistead L. Boothe Park, 520 Cameron Station Blvd.
  • Ben Brenman Park, 4800 Brenman Park Dr.
  • Chinquapin Park, 3210 King St.
  • Fort Ward Park, 4301 West Braddock Rd.
  • Lee Center, 1108 Jefferson St.
  • Old Town Pool, 1605 Cameron St.

Please note, Joseph Hensley Park (4200 Eisenhower Ave.) is currently under construction and is unavailable for rental for the 2024 picnic season. Additional parks not listed may be available for reservation.
