Picnic Reservations
Reserve a Picnic Area for Your Celebration or Event!
Are you looking for a picnic area for your birthday party, quinceañera, reunion, or other celebration or event? The City of Alexandria's Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities (RPCA) has a variety of options to fit your needs! Our reservations for the 2024 Picnic Season, running April-October, begin on Monday, March 4 and must be done in person at the Lee Center (1108 Jefferson St.). Residency verification and payment will be required at the time of the visit.
Reservation blocks for 4 hours are available at the following locations:
- Armistead L. Boothe Park, 520 Cameron Station Blvd.
- Ben Brenman Park, 4800 Brenman Park Dr.
- Chinquapin Park, 3210 King St.
- Fort Ward Park, 4301 West Braddock Rd.
- Joseph Hensley Park, 4200 Eisenhower Ave. (Currently unavailable for rental for the 2024 season)
- Lee Center, 1108 Jefferson St.
- Old Town Pool, 1605 Cameron St.

If your event requires a little bit of extra attention, we're here to help! Please contact Events & Public Space Activations at 703.746.5421 for application and permit information if your event includes:
- Requirements for City services to ensure compliance with federal, state, or local laws.
- Use of City-owned or managed property such as public streets, sidewalks, parking lots, alleys, parks, or any other City-owned/managed open space.
- Complete or partial closure of a public right-of-way.
- Requires traffic control personnel assistance from the City of Alexandria Police Department or Transportation & Environmental Services.
- Impairment of access for emergency vehicles.
- Attendance of Emergency Management Services personnel required.
