Join us for an Open House at Powhatan Park
The City of Alexandria’s Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities invites community members to attend an Open House at Powhatan Park to learn more about the upcoming park renovation and Public Art process. This event offers residents an opportunity to ask questions, share feedback, and engage directly with the project team.
Date: Saturday, November 1
Time: 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Location: Powhatan Park, 1010 Douglas St.
“Our parks are shaped by the people who use and love them,” said Hashim Taylor, Director of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities. “This open house is more than a meeting; it is your chance to influence what comes next. When the community shows up and speaks up, we build spaces that truly reflect Alexandria’s values, needs, and future.”
Your participation is encouraged whether you live nearby, use the park regularly, or are simply interested in the project. Learn more about this work by visiting the Powhatan Park Improvements Project webpage.
