The City of Alexandria today launched the 2025 AlexMoves transportation survey in collaboration with the polling and research firm Polco and seeks input from the broader community to assess how people get around Alexandria for all types of trips – including but not limited to their daily commutes.

Share your feedback and complete the AlexMoves survey by December 28.

Also known as the Transportation Needs Assessment Survey, the AlexMoves survey is completed every two years to gather a representative sample of trips made in the City of Alexandria. This year’s survey will be the fifth time City staff and Polco have issued the assessment, which helps City transportation planners gain insight into how residents, workers, and visitors get around Alexandria, monitor changes over time, and better plan for future needs.

Survey materials are available in both English and Spanish and will take an estimated 8-11 minutes to complete.

If you are a resident of the City of Alexandria and have already received information about the Transportation Needs Assessment in the mail, please complete the survey using the link provided in the mailed materials. The link provided there is separate from the open participation survey link above.

View previous survey results and learn more about how City transportation planners use data gathered to inform long-range planning on the program webpage.
