Holiday Outreach Highlights Throughout December Sheriff Sean Casey and our team have been active in holiday events with our community and public safety partners, spreading joy while helping those in need. We marched in the Scottish Walk Christmas Parade, cooked at the Jefferson-Houston PTA Pancake Breakfast, helped kids select gifts at Shop with a Cop (at right), served holiday dinner for Casa Chirilagua, celebrated with our seniors at St. Martin de Porres and the Lee Center, let little ones Touch at Truck at First Christian Church, and took part in Del Ray’s tree and menorah lighting festivities. We shared gifts and joy with families by partnering with the Concerned Citizens Network of Alexandria and Landmark Church at Winterfest and the Virginia Theological Seminary, with ARHA at Santa’s Winter Wonderland, and with the Debra Deneise Smith Foundation at their Breakfast with Santa at the Departmental Progressive Club. We are especially grateful for the public’s support for Operation Elf, which provides gifts to dozens of families with a loved one in custody, and we’ll share a full update in January! |

ASO Partners with Faith Community to Support Stronger Alexandria While Sheriff Casey and ASO embrace the spirit of the season, we also embrace opportunities with our faith-based partners to build a healthier and more informed community. On December 6, Sheriff Casey joined Commonwealth’s Attorney Bryan Porter, Police Chief Tarrick McGuire, Magistrate Judge Alexis Stackhouse and others at Alfred Street Baptist Church’s Social Justice Ministry (at right) to discuss “Understanding the Criminal Justice System Process.” Educating the public and having conversations about the justice system are vital to safeguarding rights and strengthening our community. Then on December 11, Sheriff Casey participated in a community stakeholders’ breakfast at Saint Joseph Catholic Church for an ongoing discussion on advancing equity, particularly in mental health and social justice. We appreciate the Concerned Citizens Network of Alexandria’s investment in this critical area! |
