City Memorial for Victims of Potomac Mid Air Collision

A memorial is planned to honor and remember the 67 victims of the Potomac Mid-Air Collision in January 2025. The memorial will include a commemorative bench, 67 engraved bricks, and 67 trees planted as living tributes to those who lost their lives.

About the Memorial

The City of Alexandria, in partnership with Congressman Don Beyer, will install a memorial bench, bricks, a descriptive sign and trees, honoring the 67 individuals who lost their lives on board American Airlines Flight 5342 and the PAT 25 U.S. Army helicopter in the tragic collision that occurred outside of Ronald Reagan National Airport on January 29, 2025. This memorial will be located in the northeastern portion of Rivergate City Park (2 Montgomery St.) along the Potomac River.

The unveiling of the memorial will take place on Monday, June 1 at 5:30 p.m. at Rivergate City Park.

While the City is the primary funding source for the memorial, individuals who wish to donate or contribute this project may do so below.
