Solar Group Buying is Back for Alexandrians
Interested in solar for your home or small business? Group buying programs can make the process less complicated and more affordable!
That’s why we’re excited to announce that Solarize Virginia and Switch Together are back for 2026, offering a simple, supported path to make the switch to solar. Here’s what you need to know about these limited-time programs:
- Solarize is run by the nonprofit LEAP. Deadline to sign up: July 15. Average discount: 10% compared to market rate.
- Switch Together is run by nonprofit Solar United Neighbors. Deadline to sign up: August 19. Average discount: $6,323 on a typical-sized solar installation.
Both programs have rigorously vetted and selected local installers and have negotiated a group buying discount. Along with solar panels, both programs offer optional battery storage, and Solarize also offers electric vehicle chargers. The nonprofit teams offer support to participants throughout the entire process with unbiased information to help you make confident decisions. Registration is free and there is no obligation, just an opportunity to see what solar could look like for you.
