City of Alexandria Presents Waterfront Flood Mitigation Design Updates

The City of Alexandria will provide Waterfront Flood Mitigation Project pump station design updates at three public events in November. Two of the design option overviews will be presented during the monthly meetings of the Waterfront Commission (Tuesday, November 19) and Park and Recreation Commission (Thursday, November 21). 

The Waterfront Flood Mitigation Project team will also host a dedicated, hybrid public open house the evening of Monday, November 25. The event will feature an extensive explanation of pump station and landscape design options, a question and answer session, display boards staffed by project team members, as well as an opportunity to provide feedback on the pump station designs and refined landscape concepts for Waterfront Park and Point Lumley Park.   

 

Event 1: Waterfront Commission Monthly Meeting

  • Date: Tuesday, November 19
  • Time: 7:30 a.m. (Morning)
  • Location: Alexandria City Hall, 301 King Street, Sister Cities Conference Room
  • Description: Overview of pump station location options in Waterfront Park

  • Date: Thursday, November 21
  • Time: 7 p.m. (Evening)
  • Location: Patrick Henry Recreation Center, 4653 Taney Avenue
  • Description: Overview of pump station location options in Waterfront Park

Event 3: Waterfront Flood Mitigation Project - Community Meeting & Public Open House

  • Date: Monday, November 25
  • Time: 7 – 9 p.m. (Evening)
