WEATHER ALERT: Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Alexandria Until 4:45 p.m., Thursday, June 19
The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for parts of Northern Virginia, including the City of Alexandria, on Thursday, June 19 until 4:45 p.m. Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches to fall. This could cause injuries, as well as damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by downed trees. Localized power outages are possible. Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.
The City has deployed public works teams to prepare for downed traffic signals and debris removal.
