Draft Housing 2040 Plan Released and Docketed for Public Hearing
The Office of Housing is pleased to announce the release of the Draft Housing 2040 Plan for public review. The Draft Plan will be heard by the Planning Commission as part of the June 2, 2026 docket.
- To speak at the Planning Commission public hearing, please complete a speaker’s form online, using this link, or in-person at the hearing at the Del Pepper Community Resource Center, 4850 Mark Center Drive, Alexandria, VA 22311. The public may also submit written comments in advance to the Department of Planning & Zoning staff at PlanComm@alexandriava.gov.
Background: The 2013 Housing Master Plan addressed Alexandria's housing needs through 2025. In collaboration with the community and local partners, Housing 2040 establishes new housing principles, goals, and strategies and examines policies, programs, and tools to support Alexandria’s residents and workers for the next fifteen year period through 2040. Presentations and recordings of prior Housing 2040 meetings and completed Housing 2040 Projects are available at alexandriava.gov/HousingPlan.
