Don't Miss A Magical Apothecary: Harry Potter-Inspired Tours Return to Historic Alexandria

Step into the magical world of potions and plants during the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum's specialty tour, A Magical Apothecary, offered on Thursday, July 31, at 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., and Saturday, August 2, at 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Tickets are available now at the OHA Shop.

Discover the historical botanical science that inspired the potions and herbology of Harry Potter's wizarding world during this family-friendly experience.

Magical Apothecary Tour

Explore a 19th-century apothecary, learn about the real plants and remedies behind pop-culture concepts of magic, and create your own magical potion to take home.

This specialty tour is recommended for ages 8 and up (approximately fourth grade and older). Children must be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult, and all adults attending must purchase a ticket. Admission is $15 per person, with a discounted rate of $12 for Historic Alexandria members.

The event will take place at the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum, located at 105–107 S. Fairfax Street, Alexandria, VA 22314.

Please note that this tour includes ascending and descending stairs. Due to the building's historic nature, the museum does not have an elevator.

Space is limited—reserve your spot today for a spellbinding journey into history, science, and herbal magic!

While you're visiting, don't miss Apothecary Night Shift this summer. Every Saturday in June and July, explore the Apothecary during extended hours until 7 p.m. Take a guided tour or browse the museum store's unique offerings.
