The City of Alexandria is excited to welcome back residents and visitors to our outdoor pools and interactive fountain for the start of the 2024 Pool Season. All pools and the Potomac Yard Interactive Fountain will open on Saturday, May 25. See below for more information on each location's schedule.

To prepare our visitors for the season, RPCA is offering 15% off a season pass for residents from May 1 through May 31. All passes must be purchased in person at Chinquapin Park Recreation Center & Aquatics Facility (3210 King St), or at any of the City’s outdoor pools starting May 25.

RPCA Teen Outdoor Pool passes for residents aged 13-17 will be $39 for the entire season!

Potomac Yard Park Interactive Fountain
The Potomac Yard Park Interactive Fountain, located between the two playgrounds, features 36 water jets, three programmable sequences, and sensors controlling water jet height for current conditions. For added public safety, the fountain features a secondary ultraviolet water treatment system. 

  • Daily (Memorial Day weekend-Labor Day weekend): 10 a.m.-9 p.m.
  • Daily (Labor Day weekend-mid-October): 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

Outdoor Pools
The City’s three outdoor pools will provide scheduled programming and recreational open swim and lap swimming opportunities at the following locations. As always, pool hours are subject to change. Please check alexandriava.gov/aquatics or call 703.746.5441.

Old Town Pool (1609 Cameron St.)
This complex includes a large pool with eight 25-yard lap lanes, a diving well, and a separate 1-3-ft. depth training pool with a ramp available for small children. A picnic area, basketball courts, and a playground are adjacent to the pool. A free parking lot is on-site and a DASH bus stop is one block away.

  • 5/25-8/11: Sa-Su 12-6:45 p.m.
  • 5/28-6/14: Mon, Tue, Thurs, Fri 4:30-7:45 p.m.
  • 6/13-8/16:  Mon, Tue, Thurs, Fri12-7:45 p.m.
  • 8/19-8/30:  Mon-Fri 7 a.m.-7:45 p.m.
  • 8/17-9/1: Sa-Su 8 a.m.-6:45 p.m.
  • Holidays (5/27, 6/19, 7/4, 9/2): 10 a.m.-4:45 p.m.

Memorial Pool at Charles Houston Recreation Center (901 Wythe St.)
This small pool with a beach entry is ideal for families with young children and adults seeking therapeutic benefits. A free parking lot is on-site and a DASH bus stop is one block away. 

  • 5/25-5/26: Sa-Su 10 a.m.-3:45 p.m.
  • 6/15-8/11: Sa-Su 10 a.m.-3:45 p.m.
  • 6/17-8/9:   Tue-Fri 10 a.m.-5:45 p.m.
  • Holidays (5/27, 6/19, 7/4): 10 a.m.-4:45 p.m.

Warwick Pool (3301 Landover St.)
This complex includes a six-lane 25-yard lap pool with an accessible ramp and beach entry. The water depth ranges from 0-5 feet. The Landover Street playground is adjacent to the pool. Limited free street parking is available and a DASH bus stop is two blocks away.

  • 5/25-9/1: Sa-Su  11 a.m.-4:45 p.m.
  • 5/28-6/14: Mon, Wed-Fri  4:30-7:45 p.m.
  • 6/13-8/16: Mon, Wed-Fri  11 a.m.-6:45 p.m.
  • 8/19-8/30: Mon, Wed-Fri  4:30-7:45 p.m.
  • Holidays (5/27, 6/19, 7/4, 9/2): 10 a.m.-4:45 p.m.
