City of Alexandria’s Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities Presents Asian American Pacific Islander Month Celebration 2025 Vendor Selection

Patrick Henry Recreation Center | Saturday, May 31 | 3-7 p.m.
The Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Month Celebration is an annual event hosted by the Patrick Henry Recreation Center. This event celebrates the diversity, heritage, and contributions of Asian American and Pacific Islander communities through food, art, music, and cultural activities.
We are currently seeking merchant vendors, artists, cultural groups, and organizations that represent or promote AAPI culture to participate in the celebration.
Vendor Selection Process
To ensure a diverse, high-quality experience for attendees, vendors will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Relevant experience participating in community or cultural events
- Strong reputation, professionalism, and positive references
- Product/service pricing and value for community attendees
- Alignment with the celebration’s cultural theme and community values
Vendor applications will be reviewed by City staff and community representatives. The City reserves the right to make final selection decisions. We anticipate confirming 10-15 vendors for this event.
Fees & Requirements
- A $50 flat-rate vendor fee will be charged to selected vendors.
- Selected vendors must be fully licensed to vend in the City of Alexandria.
- One table and two chairs will be provided per vendor.
Timeline of Vendor Process – AAPI Celebration 2025
- Friday, May 7: Vendor application due through the City of Alexandria’s online portal by 11:59 p.m.
- Monday, May 12: Vendors will be notified of acceptance or non-selection
- Friday, May 23: Selected vendors must submit $50 registration payment to confirm participation
- Saturday, May 31: Asian American Pacific Islander Month Celebration
