NEW DATE: City of Alexandria to Host Webinar on the Stormwater Utility Fee Credit Program – Wednesday, January 22

Due to inclement weather this week, the City has rescheduled the upcoming Stormwater Utility Fee Credit Program webinar for Wednesday, January 22.

Alexandria residents are invited learn about the Stormwater Utility (SWU) Fee Credit Program during a live webinar on Wednesday, January 22, at 7:00 p.m.

The webinar will be hosted via Zoom by the City’s Department of Transportation and Environmental Services Stormwater Management Division. Staff will present information about the program and answer any questions participants may have during a Q&A session. Click here to join the webinar.

The City will accept applications for the Stormwater Utility Fee Credit Program December 1 through February 15. Property owners can apply for a reduction – or ‘credit’ – of up to 50 percent on their SWU Fee by installing and maintaining eligible stormwater management practices on their property.

The SWU Fee, which is paid by all property owners as a separate line item on real estate tax bills, is based on the amount of impervious area – or hard surfaces – on a property. The fee provides a dedicated funding source for the City’s stormwater management programs, including flood mitigation capital projects under Flood Action Alexandria, and operational activities including storm inlet and pipe cleaning.

Approved credits are valid for two years.

To request reasonable disability accommodation, call 703.746.3960, Virginia Relay 711.
