Project Description
The Old Town Pool Replacement project will replace the existing pool and bathhouse with a new facility. The project planning started in 2012 with the City’s Aquatic Facilities Study, which recommended replacing the current aging pool with a new facility. The improvements are funded through the City of Alexandria’s Capital Improvement Program.

The City hired a consultant, Michael Baker International, as the Owner-Advisor (OA) to assist in the predesign phase advisory services. The scope of work for the OA services includes:
- Pool program feasibility study and cost estimate
- Conceptual plan options
- Owner’s project requirements and guidelines
- Design services scope of work
The kickoff meeting for the OA services was held on May 30. OA services are anticipated to be completed in the fall of 2024.

- Construction: Anticipated winter 2026 through early summer 2026
- Substantial Completion: Summer 2026
