Taney Avenue Park Improvements
Spring of 2015, the Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities developed recommendations to improve Taney Avenue Neighborhood Park, 4149 Taney Avenue, after an extensive existing condition and use analysis, and community feedback in Fall 2014. During this process we asked "In 10 years I would like this Park to...."
The top three responses for Taney Avenue Park were:
- Be a safe place for children to explore
- Be a place to create social connections with neighbors
- Provide opportunity to explore nature
Park Improvement Implementation
Spring of 2016, staff developed a conceptual site plan for Taney Avenue Park improvements based on the spring 2015 park recommendations.
Click here to see the Spring 2016 draft conceptual site plan. We want to know if the proposed improvements meet your vision of what the park will be like in ten years.
Provide your feedback the following ways:
- Click here to take the survey
- Attend an outdoor open house, at the park, 4149 Taney Avenue Park, on May 26, from 6:00pm -7:30pm.
We will meet at the existing picnic area and conduct a walking tour of the proposed improvements.
The public comment period will be open until June 1, 2016.
In the event of heavy rain or thunderstorm, the open house will be cancelled.
Please Note: Pursuant to a Special Use Permit, the proposed play areas are docketed for Planning Commission and City Council Public Hearings on June 9 and June 18.
