City of Alexandria to Host two Webinars on the Stormwater Utility Fee Credit Program

Alexandria residents and businesses will have two opportunities to learn more about the City’s Stormwater Utility (SWU) Fee Credit Program during upcoming webinars hosted by City staff. Business owners can join a daytime, business focused webinar on February 4 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Residents can join an evening, resident focused webinar on February 5 from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. Both sessions provide the same valuable information and are designed to help participants maximize their savings.

Community members will learn how the SWU Fee Credit Program rewards residents, businesses, and property owners who take steps to reduce runoff, improve water quality, and protect local waterways. Participants will leave with clear next steps they can immediately use to apply for credit.

The February 4 webinar for businesses is a collaboration with the Eco-City Business Program and will cover how the City’s Stormwater Utility Fee Credit Program empowers businesses to manage stormwater, improve local water quality, and earn up to 50 percent off their SWU Fee. This session is especially valuable for businesses looking to reduce fees while supporting sustainability goals.

Register here for the February 4 SWU webinar for businesses.

The February 5 webinar for residents, hosted by the City of Alexandria’s Department of Transportation & Environmental Services Stormwater Management Division, will go over the purpose of the SWU Fee Credit Program, eligible practices to receive credit, and how to apply for the credits. The webinar will also include a live Q&A session with City staff to answer questions about the SWU Fee Credit Program.

Register here for the February 5 SWU webinar for residents.

The Stormwater Utility Fee Credit Program applications are accepted now through February 15. Successfully applying to the program can reduce the SWU fee by up to 50 percent for a period of two years.

Space is limited. Register now for the February 4 or February 5 webinar to secure your spot.
