Storm Drain marker

All local streams drain to the Potomac River and eventually the Chesapeake Bay. These waterways provide drinking water, recreation and habitat for aquatic animals and plants. Storm drain markers feature a shad – a local fish – to remind that anything put in a storm drain goes directly into local streams.

If your civic group would like to place markers on inlets, email stormwater@alexandriava.gov.
