Peer Advocates
The peer advocate's mission is to "lead with purpose, educate with passion, empower our peers." Peer advocates teach other Alexandria teens about topics related to making healthy life choices and informing them about relevant community resources. As part of the Alexandria Campaign on Adolescent Pregnancy (ACAP), the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition of Alexandria (SAPCA), the Sexual Assault Center (SAC), and the Youth Development team, the peer advocates help plan workshops, presentations, activities and events for youth in the Alexandria community. Peer advocates also create social media content for Alexandria Teen Life and act as youth representatives at community meetings including Children and Youth Community Plan, ACAP or SAPCA boards.
