How the Job Seeker Process Works

Welcome to the City of Alexandria Workforce Development Center in Alexandria, Virginia; we are glad you are here.  We are a part of the One-Stop Centers, Virginia Career Works (Alexandria/Arlington Region), and American Job Center Network. To begin using our services and programs please look through and complete our beginning job seekers steps. 

These steps need to be completed in order. Once you've successfully completed steps 1-3, we will match you with an employment specialist to complete step 4. In order to receive the job search support, you must complete these steps. It is possible to complete the first three steps within a weeks time.

**If you do not wish to participate in the step by step process, the career center is available for you to use for independent job search activities.**

 

Step 1: Attend Orientation ​

Step 2: Submit your current resume for review​ (*We may require you to take the resume writing workshop*​)

Step 3: Participate in an interviewing skills workshop- You’ll practice and receive feedback on where you can improve​

Step 4: Meet with WDC to explore employment possibilities and options, which could include referrals to partner agencies for specialized support​
