Chinquapin Loop Parking Permits
2023-2024 School Year Parking
The Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities (RPCA) provides parking spaces to Alexandria City High School (ACHS) employees and students. ACHS students interested in parking along the Chinquapin Loop during the school day will need to apply for and purchase a parking permit from RPCA.
Eligibility and Priority
ACHS determines parking permit eligibility and priority for school employees and students. RPCA employees will review application forms to match with ACHS student eligibility and verify purchase receipts. If you have questions about your eligibility, please contact ACHS at 703.824.6800.
How to Obtain a Parking Permit
Obtaining a parking permit is a two-step process:
- Step 1: Purchase a parking permit (link below).
- Step 2: Fill out and submit a parking application form (link below).
Both steps must be completed before a parking permit decal will be issued. Incomplete applications and/or purchases will be cancelled and refunded.
Once both steps are completed by parents/guardians and verified by RPCA employees, families will receive a parking decal in the mail. Please allow three weeks from the time of purchase for the decal to arrive in the mail. Towing enforcement will commence September 18, 2023, so please plan accordingly.
Step 1: Purchase
Parking permits will open for purchase on September 21 for families of seniors. Titan students and families should keep an eye out for an email from ACHS with more information.
Parents/guardians of eligible students can purchase a parking permit online on WebTrac. To begin, click on "Activities & Trips," scroll down to "Chinquapin Parking Loop Registration," and add it to your cart. Next, log in or register for an account, then complete payment. A confirmation receipt will be automatically generated.
Price: $120 for the school year

How to Display your Decal
Display location: Apply decal on the inside of the upper corner of the driver's side windshield. It should be visible below any tint. Once you apply it to your windshield, it is highly recommended that you step outside of your vehicle and look to ensure that the decal is visible from a distance. If Parking Enforcement cannot see your decal, your vehicle will be ticketed and/or towed.
Tips for applying your decal:
- Keep decal away from solvents and chemicals.
- Apply decal at room temperature.
- Clean the surface before you apply your decal. Dry the surface completely.
- Decals stick best to smooth, flat glass. Avoid sticking decal on curved, textured, dirty, or wet surfaces.
- Bend back the decal to expose the tab around the decal.
- There is a ring around the decal that makes it easy to lift off the decal.
- Peel the decal off the liner. Be careful not to touch the adhesive.
- Apply even pressure across the entire decal to ensure full bonding.
- Adhesive decals need 24 hours to fully bond to any surface.
- Avoid picking, rubbing, or scraping decal.
