City staff is proposing an update to the sign ordinance which is currently scheduled for consideration by Planning Commission and City Council in June 2024. Staff will engage with the community this spring to discuss these updates.

Community Engagement Opportunities
Monday, April 1, 6 p.m. - Community Meeting (Hybrid)
- Staff will introduced the sign ordinance update and gathered input from meeting attendees. The presentation included an overview of existing sign regulations and potential changes. Topics of discussion included digital signs, illuminated signs above 35 feet, painted wall signs/murals, temporary signs, A-frame signs, and freestanding signs; and potential reorganization of sign regulations and updates to increase consistency and clarity.
Thursday, April 4, 7 p.m. - Planning Commission Work Session
- City Hall, 301 King Street, Council Chambers, 2nd floor
- Staff will present draft recommendations and present community input. Planning Commission will discuss and refine to draft recommendations.
Wednesday, April 17, 7 p.m. - Board of Architectural Review
- City Hall, 301 King Street, Council Chambers, 2nd Floor
- Staff will provide an informational update to the Board of Architectural Review
Wednesday, May 22, 6 p.m. - Community Meeting (Hybrid)
- Staff will present refined recommendations and seek input from meeting attendees.

Thursday, June 27, 7 p.m. - Planning Commission Public Hearing
- City Hall, 301 King Street, City Council Chambers, 2nd floor
- Staff will present recommendations. Planning Commission will hear public testimony (sign up to speak here) and discuss staff’s recommendations. Planning Commission will then vote to recommend approval or denial of the proposal to City Council
Tuesday, July 2, 7 p.m. - City Council Public Hearing
- City Hall, 301 King Street, City Council Chambers, 2nd floor
- Staff will present staff and Planning Commission’s recommendations. City Council will hear public testimony (sign up to speak here) and discuss staff and Planning Commission’s recommendations. City Council will then vote to approve or deny the sign ordinance amendments.
