The City of Alexandria’s Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities (RPCA) is proud to introduce Where You Belong, a citywide campaign focused on creating more welcoming, inclusive, and community-centered recreation experiences throughout Alexandria.
“Where You Belong” is more than a new look for Alexandria’s recreation centers. It represents the beginning of a broader vision and investment in the future of recreation, from refreshed and welcoming facilities to innovative programming and new ways of engaging residents and supporting community well-being.
The First Stop
William Ramsay Recreation Center
To celebrate the launch of Where You Belong, RPCA is pleased to unveil William Ramsay Recreation Center on Alexandria’s west side as the first recreation center to showcase the campaign. The refreshed space celebrates community, connection, and belonging.
Public Art Mural
The launch also highlights a new public art mural at the center, created by artist Tammy Barnes to reflect the identity and spirit of the community. The mural is part of RPCA’s continued effort to create spaces that are welcoming, engaging, and reflective of the residents who use them.
