Commemorate America250 with a 1776 Sing-Along and Panel Discussion

Historic Alexandria invites the community to experience a special 1776 Sing-Along & Panel Discussion on Saturday, July 25, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Alexandria History Museum at The Lyceum, 201 S. Washington Street.

1776 Singalong and Panel Discussion

Presented in partnership with Emerging Revolutionary War and American Battlefield Trust, this lively evening features a sing-along screening and discussion of the groundbreaking 1972 musical 1776. Written by a history teacher, and later inspiring the hit musical Hamilton, 1776 offers a memorable look at the personalities, politics, and debates surrounding the nation's founding, while reflecting the era in which it was created.

Tickets are $10. Advance ticket purchase is encouraged online in the Historic Alexandria Shop. Snacks and beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, will be available for purchase during the event. To allow time for discussion, portions of the film will be fast-forwarded. Participants are encouraged to watch the full movie before attending.
