Eisenhower Broadband Project
Project Background
This project will expand the existing fiberoptic communications network out the west end of Eisenhower Avenue, between Van Dorn Street and Clermont Drive. It will also deploy two new CCTV cameras to help manage traffic. This is designed in alignment with City's broader Intelligent Transportation Systems effort.
Fiberoptic cable, or Broadband, facilitates rapid communication of information across the city that is essential for new and existing technologies that leverage data to improve operational management of the roadway. As this area of the city prepares for important new developments, this investment in broadband on Eisenhower Avenue will serve as a springboard for safe, equitable, and sustainable, transportation options.
