Alexandria Health Department (AHD) and local partner organizations invite Alexandria men to attend the Men’s Health Empowerment Expo.

The free expo will be held on Saturday, June 8, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Charles Houston Recreation Center, located at 901 Wythe Street, Alexandria, VA 22314.

The expo will feature health and vision screenings, HIV testing, and boxercise and healthy cooking demonstrations. Throughout the day, attendees can participate in breakout sessions on top men’s health issues like prostate cancer, diabetes, and heart health.

The day will also include guest speakers and a panel discussion on mental and holistic health. Wes Hall, host of, “Wizards Pregame Live,” will deliver a keynote speech. Other speakers include former Alexandria Police Chief Don Hayes and Pastor Lou Whiting of My Father’s House Christian Church International.  

A live DJ will provide entertainment throughout the day, and attendees will receive a free meal.

“As men, our health is critical,” said AHD Director Dr. David Rose. “But often, men do not have the resources and assistance we need to meet our own health goals. I invite Alexandria men to join me at the Men’s Health Empowerment Expo and leave the day with the tools we need to lead long, healthy lives.”
