The curriculum consists of seven weekly classes held on Thursday evenings from 6-8 p.m. in various locations throughout the city from March 27 through May 8.

What Will You Learn During City Academy?
City Academy participants will learn how City departments work together to provide a safe and sustainable community while engaging with key members of their local government. Each week, classes highlight a unique aspect of Alexandria, diving into the following topics:

- How Does My City Stay Beautiful?
- How Does My City Keep Me Safe?
- How Do Local and State Government Work?
- How Do I Get Involved in My City?
Who Should Apply to City Academy?
To be considered for acceptance, applicants must be residents of the City of Alexandria, aged 18 years or older. If you are interested in public service and getting involved in your City, this is for you. You’ll discover ways to engage that align with your interests while connecting with other community members.
