Kick-Off Building Safety Month with the Alexandria Department of Code Administration!
The City of Alexandria invites the public to celebrate Building Safety Month this May with a free Kick-Off Event on May 2, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., in Market Square (301 King Street).
Building Safety Month is celebrated during the month of May and focuses on the work of our building safety professionals. The City of Alexandria joins the nationwide campaign to raise awareness of the continuous efforts of our Code Administrations Professionals! Join us for a free lunch, a raffle, and engaging exhibits from City departments and our local building industry partners.
Sign Up and Come Early for Free Continuing Education!
Before the main event, HILTI is hosting the first of two free training sessions beginning at 10 a.m. "Fire Stopping Techniques Utilized in Construction.” After the kick-off event, Simpson Strong-Tie is hosting "Deck Safety at Home" at 1 p.m. The training sessions will provide a total of 2 hours of Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Complimentary coffee beverages and light snacks will be provided to course participants beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Chet and Sabra Avery conference room (Room 2000) at City Hall.
