Show Your Appreciation During Public Service Recognition Week
The City of Alexandria is celebrating Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW) May 4 through 10! Since 1985, the first full week of May has been set aside to honor those who serve our nation as federal, state, county, and local government employees. PSRW is the perfect time to thank the dedicated people who serve our community every day.
We’re inviting you to record a short video showing your appreciation for Alexandria’s public servants and share it on social media by tagging us on Facebook or Instagram (@alexandriavagov).
Whether it’s a quick “thank you,” a story about a public servant who’s made a difference in your life, or a creative shoutout to your friends and neighbors in public service, every message matters. Get creative and help us spotlight the incredible work being done across our City by the dedicated public servants who make Alexandria the best place to live, work, and play.
Need ideas? Try one of these:
- Wish Alexandria’s public servants a happy Public Service Recognition Week!
- Share a story about a public servant who helped or inspired you.
- Give a shoutout to public servants at the local, state, or federal level.
Let’s flood our feeds with gratitude—tag us and help celebrate the people who keep Alexandria running strong.
