Changes to the Supplemental Pension Plan Lump Sum Benefit Option
On May 4, 2017, City Council adopted a change to the Supplemental Retirement Plan's Lump Sum Benefit option as part of the FY 2018 Budget. Council then adopted additional changes on May 3, 2018. More information about the change can be found here.

Ad Hoc Retirement Benefit Advisory Group
City Council adopted Resolution 2432 on January 25, 2011, to establish the Ad Hoc Retirement Benefit Advisory Group. This group 1) looked at the need for any future changes to defined benefit pension plans created under the authority of City Council; 2) examined the current financial status of the City's pension funds; and 3) advised the City manager, the City Council Pension and Compensation Subcommittee, and City Council on any options that should be considered.
